| Resumen, etc. | The Carpathians are among all Polish regions the area which is, as yet, unsuficientrñy investigated. The reason hereto seems to lie in the specific conditions of conservation of the culture bearing layers wich were, except for barrows and earthwork-castles, exceedingly unfavourable and much worse than in other parts of the country. Settlements being but scarce, we may suppose this scantiness to be due to a vbery roaming mode of life of Carpathian tribes during the peculiar periods of antiquity. |
