Este artículo presenta los resultados preliminares de un estado del arte sobre la producción científica desarrollada en la temática obesidad y género en Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile y México, entre el período de 2000 a 2022. Se indagaron las líneas temáticas y orientaciones teóricas más relevantes dentro de estos estudios. Los hallazgos corroboran que las investigaciones sobre obesidad y género tienen una trayectoria investigativa todavía escasa, situándose como un desafío para las nuevas agendas de investigación social, y dentro de los estudios de género a raíz de los efectos diferenciados de la obesidad en hombres y mujeres, donde el género contribuye significativamente en las desigualdades de género que subyacen a esta problemática. This article presents the preliminary results of a state of the art on the scientific production developed on the subject of obesity and gender in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and Mexico between the period from 2000 to 2022. The most relevant thematic lines and theoretical orientations were investigated. within these studies. The findings corroborate that studies on obesity and gender still have a limited research trajectory, positioning itself as a challenge for the new social research agendas, and within gender studies due to the differentiated effects of obesity in men and women, where gender contributes significantly to the gender inequalities that underlie this problem.
