El presente artículo es un breve repaso acerca de la vida y obra de Miguel Alandia Pantoja (1914-1975),
uno de los artistas y muralistas más importantes de Bolivia durante el siglo XX, el cual compartió época
con grandes artistas que cambiaron, configuraron y allanaron el panorama artístico de nuestro país. Su
pensamiento y obra transversalizaron distintas épocas de nuestra sociedad, influyendo en la temática e
ideología de toda una generación y llegando, sin embargo, a ser censurada y destruida por las dictaduras y
los regímenes que iban en contra del pensamiento y visión indigenista y las propuestas estéticas planteadas
en aquel tiempo. Es por ello que, además de repasar lo ya mencionado, analizaré no solo la obra y vida
de Alandia Pantoja, sino también el contexto histórico, político y social en el cual se desarrolla su estética
artística, así como la mención de los grandes artistas con los que compartió época.

This article is a brief review of the live and work of Miguel Alandia Pantoja, one of the most important artist
and muralist of the 20th century, who shared at time with great artist who changed, shaped and leveled the
artistic panorama of Bolivia, whose theme Art is and was essential art, but also in the history of the country
itself. His thinking, like his work, transversalized different periods of our society, but remained unchanged over
time and influenced the themes and ideology of an entire generation, becoming censored and destroyed by the
dictatorship and regimes that were against the indigenista thought and vision and the aesthetic proposals raised
that time. This article will analyze not only the work and life of Alandia Pantoja, but also the historical political and social context in which his artistic aesthetics develop, as well as the mention of the great artists with
whom he shared time.
