The reason hereto seems to lie in the specific conditions of conservation of the culture bearing layers wich were, except for barrows and earthwork-castles, exceedingly unfavourable and much worse than in other parts of the country. Settlements being but scarce, we may suppose this scantiness to be due to a vbery roaming mode of life of Carpathian tribes during the peculiar periods of antiquity. | ||
